That is a difference that lifts LMMS up over everything, especially if a user is a coder, because then the user can add his own feature and LMMS evolves every time. LMMS has a h u g e benefit over all other DAWs: LMMS is user driven!Įverything you see in LMMS is the result of user wishes! Its not just features, it is just better cores. Pro-tools is simply just better -Even FLs is better. Lmms cant in any witch way 'compete' with Pro-tools. Some with track-limitations, some with feature differences, but still free-versions -Even Pro-tools, that is a Studio-grade DAW, can now be found in a free version! Imho project-LMMS has caused the commercial DAW publishers, to offer free versions of their software. LMMS is not meant to be a 'competing' DAW. Reaper has more bells and whistles than LMMS but my impression is that LMMS is improving with each update - so the two DAWs might even compete in the future. Reaper is another feature-rich DAW that is popular partly due to its low price tag (for non-professional use).
